Journey: Prologue

I spent the weekend at a writer's conference. Sounds pleasant, doesn't it? Classes. Networking. Learning craft, trade and business.

But the only pleasant moments were those stolen from the melee: sipping coffee early in the morning, riding the elevator alone. The other moments were joyous, exhilarating, uncertain, turbulent, reflective, and intense.

This week I'm going to write the places God took me these past five days. In every circumstance He walked me right to the edge of my own insecurities. He stood right next to me as I looked down, down, over the edge of a breathtaking cliff at the chasm below.

Whether you attended the ACFW conference this weekend or not, I hope you will share a bit of your personal journey--whether it includes writing or not--in the comment section.

The edge of insecurity...wow, I'm very familiar with that place!

I so much enjoyed meeting you in person, Gwen! Thanks for introducing yourself! I hope you were able to get back into the swing of things at school on Monday!

Hi Gwen!
I can't wait to read these posts. You always write so eloquently about the writer's journey.

This really sparked some thoughts in me. Where *has* God brought me the past five days? I think the place I've ventured to that stands out the most is a breathtaking lake. I went metaphorically of course. I reflected, I stirred in thought about whether or not I'm reflecting Him and His glory. I went to a U2 concert a couple of nights ago and I've thought a lot about how I put myself out there since. Bono pours so much energy into enhancing this world. What is God stirring in me?

God's also been prompting me to think of my voice...not just my writing voice, but my voice of His Spirit...

Glad your time spent at the conference inspired many feelings for you.

Thanks for the thoughts.

"He walked me right to the edge of my own insecurities. He stood right next to me as I looked down, down, over the edge of a breathtaking cliff at the chasm below." ...And knew with Him standing next to me, even if I fell, He would catch me or teach me to fly...

Welcome back.
